It turns out that, for The Guardian, the 10 best food markets in Europe are all in North Europe. No mention of any Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or Greek food market - after all, everybody knows that the food in South Europe is really awful and none of the ingredients used there is fresh, right? In fact, even the Dalston Food Market in London, which actually opened 3 weeks ago, is superior to the Southern food markets. South Europe is not the only absent in this top 10. In fact, where is Eastern Europe? And in which sense is a food market in Helsinki better than food markets in Czech Republic or Hungary or Bulgaria or Romania?
