It was 18 years ago today that I was in so much pain I couldnt bare it! But from all that pain came this magical, beautiful human being, my Wairua. Weighing in at 9 pound 7 he was a very long baby. I was in labor for 36 straight hours! I remember I only swore once and that was at his father! Very conscious that the Doctor and the Midwife that delivered him were lovely lovely women. My support team consisted of my mother, my sister and Wairuas Dad. My sister was awesome, rubbing my back and knowing what to do, my mother not very experienced at being on the other side of delivery and was not very good at cheer leading but it was good to have my mummy there. Wairuas dad was awesome, Wairua was taking his merry time in wanting to get out of what was his home for the last nine months - pretty much like he is today! While his dad thought it would be good to try and run me around the delivery suite.......pretty much like a training session! It was all worth it, right to the core of my being. Wairua has been a blessing in my life I dont know where I would be without him. Wairua definitely suits his name, he has worn that name proud! I love you so much it hurts son...... Happy Birthday you are now 18, you can go out and drink legally and vote. I always imagined this day coming and you have inspired me. Have a wonderful day love always......mummy xx
