It was a good day. Most of the afternoon was spent cruising on a ferry from Hollyhead, Northern Ireland to Dublin. Big Big ferry, luxury accomadations, gift shop, food, movies for kids, play area for kids. It was very nice ---- like a small mini cruise. Nothing tonight. We are ready for a nice quiet evening. We were in the little town of Betwe-y-calle, Wales We had to change to Euros on the ferry. We are now in Ireland and it is part of the European Union. Out of Liverpool through a 2.5 mile tunnel. We followed an old coach road to Betws-Y-Coed, a touristy place for people who come to view or climb or vacation in the Snowdonia Mountains of Wales. Kinda of an artsy place. Then on to the town with the longest name (to long to spell) but it means "the church of Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of Tysilio by the red cave." That seems to be their only claim to fame! According to our guide, Wales is mostly Methodist and very much into music. Pavarotti sang here before he became famous. There are only 2 coal mines left in North Wales. We crossed the Irish Sea from Wales to Ireland at Holleyhead on the Ulysses, largest car ferry in that area. Took about 3.5 hours. We did brave the outside deck for a little while for pictures, but soon headed back inside for luxury.
