It was a packed house at the groundbreaking” ceremony for the new, more state-of-the-art Florina-Rusi Marke Comprehensive Breast Center (CBC) last night at Staten Island University Hospital. I am committed to working with Dr. Coomer and Dr. Raia to help provide them with the most high-tech tools they need to help Staten Islanders. I met with the team at the Center several weeks ago to speak to them about their needs and the newest technology, especially 3D mammogram technology. At that meeting I committed that in the next budget cycle, I will work to secure funds to help them purchase this new, state-of-the-art technology. They are doing amazing work, and I intend to help them do all they can to continue helping Staten Islanders.
