It was a privilege to be invited to the Peel family home to explore John Peel’s personal record collection. Honestly, I havent seen anything like it. Over 100,000 records i’m told, I was completely overwhelmed by the task at hand. Where does one start without missing so many great records!?? The collection is deeply rich and diverse. Finding records which are classics or a rare (Augustus Pablo dub plates!!!) seemed endless from all genres over so many years. I had just a few hours to go digging, I did my best but barely touched the surface. Thanks to Alex + the team at The John Peel Archive for everything. I’d also like to say a special thank you to Sheila Peel who made me feel so welcome in her home. She cooked and prepared a delicious lunch for myself and the team. (Which reminds me, I wanted to get the recipe for the quiche!!) A special women and unforgettable day. What else can I say. Let music inspire. I hope you enjoy. One Love
