It was a very busy day as we cleaned out the two boxcars at the Hamburg Fairgrounds in preparation for the move to the Heritage Discovery Center next week. Due to height restriction and to avoid costly DOT permits, the cars need to be placed on their sides on the lowboy trailer. This meant everything needed to be emptied out of our EL boxcar and the Operation Lifesaver car. A large crew of volunteers appeared at the fair grounds at 10am and we made quick work of the job. After unloading at the HDC, we made another run to clear out a storage area that was full of Society archives and brought them to the HDC for cataloguing and display. Special thanks to the volunteers who helped with the job and a special thanks to Caryl Youngers of Bellaterra Greenhouses in Angola for the loan of the large truck.
