It was another disappointing race for Brad Binder at the bwin Grand Prix Ceske republiky as a crash ended a difficult weekend. Starting in 20th meant there was plenty of work to do during the race, but Brad was determined and focused as ever. A solid opening lap saw the young South African battle his way up to 18th, despite some contact in the first corner. A large fight then ensued involving multiple riders fighting for 15th to 22nd, the leader of the group changing multiple times per corner. Despite struggling for speed, Brad battled hard with the likes of Loi and Fenati as he tried to get back into the points. Sadly a crash with Baldassari ended Brad’s race. He escaped uninjured. Brad now sits 11th in the championship. Ten points behind top Honda, Jack Miller. “It’s a huge bummer to not score any points again. We really struggled all weekend trying to get the bike to work and we seemed to be really struggling with the engine. Our spot on the grid didn’t help and I tried to make up a lot of places going into turn one and I got bumped around a lot. Then I was fighting with everyone and I just couldn’t get past them, even with a slip stream. It’s a real disappointment after having such a strong start to the season. Time to pack up and move onto Silverstone next weekend.”
