It was back to yoga class this morning. I still have some residual affects of the cold. My lawn mower parts came in but they were different than the originals and I had to drill and tap the part. Jean had a bunch of envelopes to mail to schools for the DAR essay contest, so we went to Elizabeth P.O, delivered night latches to Franks, and picked up a bolt for the mower at the hardware store. I messed up a wide border on a belt using one of those gimpy plastic swivel knife guides so sat down and drew up a guide I can mill out of aluminum. This has been on my do list for about 5 years but now it is going to get done, and I am going to make up 5 or 6 of them. While fixing the mower I noticed that only one bolt was holding the engine on the cowling. The others had broken out. Going to let that go, because replacement cowlings arent made any more ( no surprise) but I think I can beef it up with some steel strips next spring. No, Im not going to do a Red Green duck tape fix on it. Im listing to CDs of Jean Shepards radio programs from the 1960s ( author of A Christmas Story - Ralphie, the BB gun and Scut Farcus). He is like The Car Guys on steroids.
