It was brought to my attention earlier this year that a hospital transportation service for disabled veterans was struggling to operate because of a loss of funding from the VA. As a strong supporter of our vets and military issues, I felt it was important to restore that funding. Working with our capable General Fund Budget Chairs, Sen. Arthur Orr and Rep. Steve Clouse, $120,000 is being allocated to fully fund the transportation service and provide veterans with the care they need.
