It was five years ago today that a gunman walked into Arkansas - TopicsExpress

It was five years ago today that a gunman walked into Arkansas State Democratic Party Headquarters in Little Rock and killed Party Chairman Bill Gwatney. The shooter, Timothy Dale Johnson, 50, was later killed by police in Grant County after a high-speed chase. No sane motive for the shooting was ever developed. A heartbreaking day in Little Rock, as seen in our blog coverage, linked below. Current chairman Will Bond just issued an e-mail statement which read, in part: "It always gets somber this time of year around the Democratic Party of Arkansas. Five years ago, we lost a very dear friend, former state senator and our chairman, Bill Gwatney. Today, we remember Bill, his family, and close friends... In reverence to Bill’s spirit, his energy, and his enthusiasm, we hold up his service as an example of the difference that one good man can make in the lives of others. We honor his memory by carrying on and fighting for candidates who are committed to building a brighter future for all Arkansans."
