It was great to see the weightlifting and CrossFit communities - TopicsExpress

It was great to see the weightlifting and CrossFit communities come together today at our gym. We hosted our first USAW sanctioned event today and had a huge turnout. We were expecting 10-20 and probably had closer to 50 total athletes compete. One of the coolest things that I saw from the day was that the Nebraska region (Kansas, Missouri, Iowa) has some outstanding youth lifters. There are some coaches in our area that are making a positive impact on the lives of kids that want to compete in this sport. Self-confidence, discipline, work-ethic, learning from failures, and celebrating milestones are all pieces of the puzzle that are coming together around here. These lessons will be carried over to their professional careers as they grow. There were no participation trophies or ribbons given today. These athletes earned what they deserved! Congratulations to everyone that competed. You all did a great job representing yourselves and we look forward to seeing you at our next event. Most importantly, thanks to our members at CrossFit 402 that spent the majority of their day volunteering to make the event go smoothly. I cant thank you enough for your dedication to our community and offering your time and talents to help. If you are interested in more information about youth lifting in the Omaha area, please contact Huskerland Weightlifting Club which operates out of our facility.
