It was long time ago...a couple of months after we opened Pinocchio. It happened at Pinocchio and than we sent this simple story in our weekly newsletter. Somebody read it and sent us an email back with these words: "Marco, Just to let you know that your letter featured on the Gerry Ryan Show last Friday morning between 9.30 a.m. and 10. Best wishes Louise RTE 23 October 2008 The Girl from Ipanema in Dublin! Early this morning I opened Pinocchio, it was cold and raining, a really dark sky! Outside there was a little girl with two big bags organizing her daily work: giving a free newspaper to all the people taking the Luas in Ranelagh..... I was waiting inside our waiters working at restaurant for the breakfast...... Two men came in asking if it was opened for a coffee take away. I said: I´m waiting the bar tender, it´s too early, but if you like I´ll try to make a good Italian coffee for you also if you need to know I´m not the best coffee maker in Dublin! They smiled, I gave them during the difficult operation some home made biscuits and they started to talk. They didn´t know each other but after a few minutes (thanks to those biscuits and to my “wonderful“ coffee) they and myself felt like friends and I have to say I loved the lovely kindness in our quick conversation at 7 o´clock in the morning! When they left Pinocchio I saw again outside the little girl ready to start her work. I thought that inviting her for a quick nice espresso could give her the right Energy in this dark day. I didi it! She was a shy girl but I smiled and she accepted to entry so we had an espresso together. I asked her nationality and she said I´m from Brazil. Brazil! Wow! I started to sing in a funny way a song of Rio Carnival. She started to laugh and before to say me hello something amazing happened! Unexpected! She sang a piece of “Girl from Ipanema“ with the best voice of the Heaven! Yes! Absolutely magic! It was her gift and She made my day! Things like these remind me that fortunately still People can make the difference and that starting a great day doesn´t need such big efforts: a smile, a coffee, some biscuits and the Girl from Ipanema.....in Dublin!
