It was my pleasure to meet with the new National Science Foundation (NSF) Director France Córdova today – the NSF is critical to diversifying our science and engineering programs that directly affect many issues important to our daily lives. In fact, today the NSF announced $11.4 million in grants to study ocean acidification effects on our marine ecosystems, an issue of crucial importance to our economy in the Puget Sound region.
