It was on this day Australia lost 3 sons in Afghanistan doing their job along side their mates, We pause to reflect and think about them as well as the hole left in their families lives, we miss them. In no particular order Ben Chuck, Scott Palmer, Tim Aplin RIP guys We also think about the other guys injured in that Blackhawk who have fought many other battles since on a number of fronts, amazing resilience and true testament to the Aussie Digger spirit . We havent painted Ben Chuck yet , we would like to but we would like to involve his family and mates as with Tim and Scott. Thanks Amber from Digger Art! The idea behind the paintings is to help remember them and educate future generations through inspiration, if ever sold funds will go to the Commando Welfare Trust. All the families of these guys have been amazing with support for the soldiers of 2 Commando Regiment and other soldiers through putting their efforts to fund raising and creating memorials. All of them need to be thanked by Australia on so many levels. I am humbled to have spent time with a number of them and am committed to supporting their causes.
