It was pretty shocking to hear on the local news tonight that 911 responders cannot accurately identify an exact location of cell phone calls via GPS. In 2008 a kidnapped woman trapped in the trunk of a car called 911, unaware of her location. She was able to remain on the phone for 6 minutes and first responders were unable to determine her location. She was found dead 2 days later. Its scary to think about this broken system still being in place when/if you might need it and are unable to convey a location. It took me all of 2 minutes to send 3 letters to local congress reps to support the cause.
