A surface trough will move eastwards across southern Queensland during Monday and Tuesday. Hot northerly winds over the southern districts ahead of the trough. Forecast for the rest of Saturday - The chance of some showers and storms over the southern districts and Central Highlands this evening. Fine and clear elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds across most of the state. Sunday 26 October - Hot over the southern districts. The chance of some showers and storms over the southern districts and the Central Highlands, extending across to the coast south of about Yeppoon late in the day. Fine and clear elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds over the eastern and northern districts, light to moderate westerly winds over the southern interior. Fire Danger - Severe over the Darling Downs and Granite Belt. Very high over parts of the southern, central and northern interior. Monday 27 October - The surface trough should drift eastwards across the southern interior. Hot with elevated fire danger ahead of the trough over the southern interior and the southeast, and somewhat milder temperatures (but still above average) behind the trough in the far southwest.
