It was the best year of my life. I and my partner created a girl, Tinsel, and she is remarkable: a funny, happy little girl, fearless and brave, tough and relentlessly cheerful. She also sleeps all the times you want her to, and yes, I know were lucky for that. I had multiple revivals of my work - all over the world - including a very, very good one at the DTC (The Young Tycoons, with which I was quite involved, and which was excellent, always due to my collaborator Michael Pigott). I created a new work, KINSKI AND I, that will follow me through the next few years, as always with Mike. I took a year off drinking, lost fat, gained muscle, and learned a lot about losing fat and gaining muscle. This might have been slightly negative, in that I rediscovered vanity (while I was fat I didnt give a shit). MOVIELAND, my ABC show and Podcast, was and remains my pride and joy. Over 120,000 downloads since its inception, and FILMMAFIA, my lil blog, had over 27,000 reads this year. I am a father, a playwright, a film critic, a broadcaster, a Sydneysider, and... a film critic. Thats what I really am. And happy.
