It was the big good news story on Friday, the week after the Paris terrorist shootings that shocked the world. Several arrested in European anti-terror raids, was the USA Today headline. But the international law-enforcement agency Europol points out to the Associated Press that as many as 5,000 radicalized Muslims are in Europe, a number sure to increase with new terror plots in Europe and America attracting so much media attention. These Islamist terrorists within Europe are largely independent, operating under minimal if any command structure, and are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their methods, according to Europol. Catching a couple dozen of them in the week after the Paris massacre is not good news; it is a reminder of the magnitude of protecting the Free World from these savages among us — and of the stupidity of Europe in letting them root themselves here thanks to blindly naive and self-destructive immigration policies over many years. There was something blackly farcical about Secretary of State John Kerry being squired about Paris by French President Francois Hollande, getting a tour of the magazine offices and kosher supermarket where 17 were slaughtered — especially considering that neither Kerry, President Obama nor anyone else high up in the U.S. government bothered attending last Sundays mass protest in Paris against terrorism. The U.S. should be leading the world in tracking down the many thousands of Islamist terrorists, wherever they are. Instead, in word and deed, we pretend this is not the new kind of global war it is.
