It was the perfect finish to the USAs first Panna Championship. A relatively unknown player from from Chicago comes to the West Coast with a big smile that masks his quick footwork and deceptive street skills... Michel Gomez pulls off a massive panna to shock the US Street Scene and some of the biggest names in street soccer are there to watch it unfold. Michel goes from the streets of Chicago to worldwide recognition in 3 minutes... Although it wasnt the only surprise of the weekend. Leading up to the mens 1v1 finale were the youth events where the solo 9-12 female player Kaylee (Amber Norris Sargent) travels from hours away and finds her way in the semi-finals of the 1v1s and the champion of the 2v2 tournament. SISMs young player Jair went on to win both the youth 1v1 and 2v2 events. Pacific Soccer Academy Los Gatos Storms Christopher made an amazing performance in the 13-16 youth Panna event and made it to the finals before SISMs Saif Korkis took the championship win. Gio Kskrero came up from Mexico City to compete and went on to win the Freestyle Championship. And finally, SISMs Ali Alzubaidy and Hawk Eye pulled off an amazing 2v2 mens open victory, injuries and all! For every winner on the way to the finals there were special opponents that made each and every victory memorable and meaningful. We appreciate all who came to compete, eat, rap, freestyle in N. CA restaurants and fast food chains, take selfies with idols, drive with their head out the sunroof taking pics, pannad Elmo, got pannad by a street pro... or their friend in the house for the 10th time, finish a monster Burrito solo from FreeBirds, miss a SJ flea Market special deal, show respect and sportsmanship, visited USA for the first time and generally sleep on anything that was flat with a roof over it!...
