It was the usual hustle & bustle getting Alex to school today, watching her wrestle to get her 50 pound backpack on her shoulders and her tenor sax out of the back seat. She took a few steps toward the building and then turned back, gave me smile and small wave before heading in. It pulled on all my heartstrings and the whole way home I was teary wondering how Ill get through the day my little bird leaves the nest for college. Shes only a junior now but I know that day is going to be here in a blink of an eye. I love that kid...shes the greatest gift of my life.
