It would have been thumping victory with 200+ seats had it been BJP+ShivSena. BJP missed golden chance towards Congress Mukth Bharath. They gave Congress and NCP new lease of life with out pre-poll alliance. While Congress and NCP has very good political strategy in going separately to reduce anti-incumbency effect, BJP and Shivsena tried to dominate each other. I think it is very good move from BJP politically to contest on its own and emerge as single largest party. They proved that they are right in parting ways with SS however they didnt achieve what they were hoping for. I believe they secretly hoped to kill Regional parties which I think is not going to happen and which should not happen to maintain political balance across India. 2014 is only an exception and regional parties will play big role in future. BJP will definitely need regional parties support, so I hope BJP takes care of their allies going forward, we will see what they will do with Akalidal in coming days. But saddest part from this is that these results will definitely lift congress spirits which were crashed 6 months ago. I would have loved to see congress getting one more humiliating defeat but now they got face saving result after ruling for 15 years and going against 3 parties. This will definitely help congress and boost their confidence. I think and I hope BJP will have post-poll alliance with ShivSena but not with NCP. If they go with NCP I dont khow how they can claim to be different from Congress and I am sure Maharashtra people will feel cheated.
