It ws on d 13th day of sep 2011, d day d new employees resumed work in benin city afta my nysc. We had a persn to persn intro bt d two of us bcame close friends aftwards. Am frm anambra n he was frm ogwashi Delta. He invtd me to hs mum bda thnxgvn in d church,he introducd me to hs parents n siblings as a broda, frnd n coleaqe, lata he also invtd me to hs sisters mariage. I took d turn by invtn hm to my one-room face me i face u, in aduwawa benin city. I was hapy to av a coleaqe n frnd vist me. We chatd abt d future, grls, career etc. We cntnued n strngthened our frndshp at work n outsid. We cal our slves pally. Though we r alws on d opp sides during arguements in d office, it didnt affect our frndshp.Afta work we go home tgda evn wn we av to wait 4 eachoda to finsh hs work b4 we go. My career took me to anambra n i left benin city bt we stl cmunicat on phn,fb n 2go. He told me abt a book he was writin n i av bn waitn 4 d optnity to visit benin cty n probably vsit my frnd bt i culdnt. D last time we chat i prmisd to cal hm bt lata 4got. On d 12th of oct 2013, i recvd a bombshel frm one of hs coleaqe helo calistus, we r on our way on a cndolence visit to uches family. What hapnd?, i queried, uche died yestda(11 oct) was d response hw?!, i thundered, he went 4 an interview, on hs way back he dcdd to visit a frnd, it was thr he slumpd n b4 hlp wuld cme uche was no more was d reply. I cried n cried n cried. What a great loss! Uche was a young, dark, handsome n cool guy wt great promises n focused. Very serius wt work n life, frndly n jovial. He was lovd by al in d office. We use to b cald twins bc we r alws tgda at work hlpn each oda out wt hs responsibility.
