Items included on the May 12, 2014, Barton County Commission agenda: DISCUSSION: Issues in the Treasurer’s Office – Time has been scheduled to discuss certain issues with Kevin Wondra, County Treasurer. COUNTY CLERKS OFFICE: Request for Approval – Added / Abated / Escaped / Refunded Taxes for 2013 – Orders for these actions are kept on file in the County Clerks Office. EMERGENCY RISK MANAGEMENT: Continuation of the Burn Ban – On March 24, 2014, through Resolution 2014-07, the Commission established a Temporary Burn Ban in Barton County. Limited rainfall and dry vegetation continue to create a local fire danger. At this time, local Fire Chiefs will provide an update. TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROJECT GRANT, WETLANDS AND WILDLIFE NATIONAL SCENIC BYWAY: K-4 Overlook Improvement Project – Grant Amendments – The County, partnering with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT), received a Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Transportation Enhancement Grant application for improvement to the parking area at the K4 Overlook. The Federal Highway Administration and KDOT have suggested revision for accessibility and improvement of the entrance. In addition, it is suggested that the County encumber funds for the KDWPT for the overall improvement project. The County will bill the KDWPT and funds will be transferred back to Capital Improvement. COUNTY SERVICES: Informational Update – Mr. Boeckman will provide the informational report of work completed during the last period.
