Its 1962, the Minnesota Twins decide they want to sign the Knight pitcher from Castlemont high school in Oakland, Rudy May. Its the stepping stone of 16 years in the majors. May turns 70 tomorrow, born in Coffeyville Kansas. He plays his 1st professional baseball for Bismarck-Marden Pards. He is drafted in the 1st year draft by the White Sox in 1963. October of 1964 he is traded to the Phillies. In 1965, he is traded to the Angels for Bo Belinsky. He breaks into the big leagues with the Angels and pitches in 31 games for the Halos. Its back to the minor for 66-67 and 68. The southpaw would pitch in southern California thru part of 1974 season. He is purchased by the Yankees in June of 1974. Pitches in the Bronx from 1974 thru June 1976. He is involved in 10 player trade in June of 1976, which sends him to the Orioles. In the winter meeting of 1977, he is traded north of the border to the Montreal Expos. He goes free agent after the 1979 season and returns to the Yankees. In 1980, he wins the AL era title (2.46) pitches against the Royals in ALCS. He throws for the only time in the World Series in 1981. His final season in the big leagues would be 1983
