Its 2015 now, and so Im thinking about the future. Almost a year ago, I posted a video describing phonebloks, a speculative description of a modular phone system. Most people on my Facebook feed called it a silly, if not impossible, idea. But now Googles Project Ara has really sunk their teeth into the modular phone problem and produced an awesome looking series of prototypes. Its amazing how quickly theyve produced something usable—albeit less wacky (and infeasible) than the Phonebloks presentation. Id like to reopen the conversation about Phonebloks and (now) Ara. Would you buy a modular smartphone? If so, what crazy thing would you do with it? (Angelica, Evan, Abraham, Josh, Georg, Kamilah, Emily, Samantha, Ben, Kirk.)
