Its 7 Nights Of Kylie! Night #5 - Spinning Around. The lead single from her Light Years album in 2000, many folks mistakenly claim this was her comeback single (certainly Wikipedia does) after a disappointing previous album in 1997. I say poppycock to that - she never went away. Nothing wrong with a bit of reinvention. But its fair to say this album (and track in particular) kicked off her career ascension into true pop greatness after the early SAW years and her slightly hit-n-miss mid-90s indie/Michael Hutchence dalliances. Co-written by, and originally intended for, Paula Abdul, Kylie tries a little too hard in the video - perhaps channeling Madonna a tad too much - but the song and its delivery is a pop princess operating at full throttle.
