Its Ash Wednesday, and if youre like me, I think of it as only a Catholic event where people put ashes on their forehead and everyone in the neighborhood knew you were Catholic. Well, no more. We think its a powerful communal activity to prepare for Easter. Its not only about reflection, and being honest with ourselves about our limitations. Its also a reminder of the beauty of Gods creation, of which we are only a part. Its a time to embrace hope, while also accepting the limitations of our humanity....which is where so much of the beauty of humanity lives. We are all connected in our imperfections and our willingness to grow together. This is something to come together for, and to really feel. The Holy Spirit is always present in our humility and hope.
