Its Autism Awareness Month and I am so grateful for the progress - TopicsExpress

Its Autism Awareness Month and I am so grateful for the progress Henry has made since his diagnosis in February 2012. He amazes me every single day. James diagnosis has changed over the last 2 years from Aspergers in 2012 to PDD-NOS in 2013 and, now, bi-polar disorder. We have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of autism. We have met amazingly wonderful families that have turned into friends. I have so much hope for my boys and what they can become become we are learning and have more knowledge than ever about therapies and ways for them to cope. I challenge anybody that has not been directly affected by autism to do some research, learn a little, and understand that autism doesnt make somebody weird or dumb but it does make them learn different, socially struggle, and have lots of sensory difficulties. People with autism have brains, they are smart, they have lots of love to give, they just need understanding, patience, and people that can bring out the best in them. Be aware! Be accepting!
