Its Christmas morning! The hustle and hassle of shopping is behind you. The tree is up, lights on, stockings hung and stuffed full of surprises, presents beautifully wrapped and strategically placed for easy distribution. The mixed smells of fresh brewed coffee and baked ham ignite our tastebuds and our imagination of the feast to be enjoyed later with family. Soon the anticipated gathering will appear of sleepy eyes, bed-head hair, and hopes that Santa filled their wish list. In the midst of the making of memories and the silent judgment of who got the biggest, better, best, or most expensive gift, please dont forget what this day is all about. We were sick with a deadly disease that was eroding our purpose and passion for life, a malignancy of pride, lust and self-absorption that crippled our ability to love unconditionally and forgive freely. But our Heavenly Father, rich in mercy and long in patience, saw our disease and sent the CURE, in the form of a baby, to bring healing for depraved lives, the mending of broken hearts, the forgiveness of wickedness so vile that we pray only He knows about. Hopefully our focus will turn upward for a moment, away from the presents to enjoy His Presence! For this day we celebrate the greatest gift of all, Jesus, our Lord, Savior, King, and Cure for our sin! What a Gift, indeed, so big you cant put a bow on it, but you can humbly bow before it! MERRY CHRIST-CENTERED CHRISTMAS my friends! I love you guys!
