Its Council election time so please have your say about the future - TopicsExpress

Its Council election time so please have your say about the future of Ravenswood and Waverley. We have 25 people to pick from for our new council. The Launceston City Council are keen to support our communities and we want them to. If you are enrolled to vote for state government then you are enrolled to vote for council elections. At a very recent rate payers meeting I attended, there were 10 of the 25 people who wanted to be on the council there. The questions I asked were about what they were going to do to make Ravenswood and Waverley an important part of Launceston. I told them that we have really great communities where people care about each other, but we need a hand with work opportunities and facilities. I was impressed with what Hugh McKenzie, Phillipa Carr, Ruth Haw and Janie Finlay had to say, they were interested in people more than in big business and wanted to see things improve for us. Just a view from me about what I observed at one meeting and wanted to share with you. This is not the view of the Ravenswood Neighbourhood House, just what I saw as someone who really loves these communities - Jenny Gee
