Its Hughs 21st, no doubt one of the greats, From Oxford, from Salisbury, we come to Woodyates A coming of age, no longer a child Black tie the theme with a touch of the wild. For all of his life, he’s lived in these parts With his family so kind, their wonderful hearts His amazing parents, yep, Annie and Paul He was given a platform, and no way could he fall Jimbob and Will ensured there were tears Education at Broadchalke, for his younger years T’was the only school, he weren’t considered a bum, And only because, he was taught by his mum. Eleven plus failed, what a reprobate, So unlucky for him, it was off to Burgate. A party animal, but rarely too loud The likeable Hugh, soon fell in with a crowd Hitchings, Davies and Glenn to name but a few Big dogs they became, as their names just grew Parties each week, not if, but when Armed with fake ID’s, for underage N&N Plodded on for five years, a drag it did seem But sixth form was Meccah, realising his dream. All our grades slipped, his influence did rub, Swapping business for Ladbrokes and the snooker club Any offers there were, like nothing I’ve seen He always said yes, incredibly keen His partying continued, as we all lost our plots Nights out in the hometown, then he kipped at the Scotts. Going back a few years, to rugby with lads His first session at Salisbury, with huge shoulder pads To finish the look, were those ropey highlights It’s fair to say, his rugby reached greater heights. His experience at Salisbury, it was to be topped Fordingbridge next, allegiances swapped Not because of his skill, but cause he’s so keen He blagged the odd game, in the school first fifteen. Now on from school, as life all unravelled It’s fair to say, our Hugh is well travelled But first to earn, Kaplan paid his fees And always hungover, as he put up marquees He’s been all over, where it’s cold, where it’s hot From safari to skiing, he’s sure done the lot It was hard to keep track, as I’m sure you all knew New Zealand and Thailand to name but a few Africa most recent, found another new mob As he earned his living, hunting poachers his job A poacher brings me, nicely onto the girls And it’s fair to say, that he’s bagged some pearls Stood next to cadger, you ain’t got a chance And it’s certainly not down, to the way he does dance He keeps a close note, of the girls that he flatters Thanks to that black beard, with a few odd white splatters I can’t comment at Burgate, but I’m sure he starred A look at old pictures, show they fought for him hard Holly James looked the favourite, then he dropped a bomb As it was Chosman, who he took to the prom From a reliable source, and much to his fury He never quite managed to pull Milly Jury But at Bishop’s we saw, them flock to his nests And I’ll try and pick out, a few of his conquests First off we’ll start, with Emily Brown But he was a bit naughty, causing a frown From one of his mates, he deserved a clout And it was in Mcdonalds, they shouted it out Year 12 was done, into year 13 Year below at Godolphin, some talent he’d seen Not taking it easy, no need to be slow As he made his way, through Fev, Lara and Po. The penultimate tale, the end is near with the girl of his dreams, on his gap year, His dream was perfection, as he would confess Reality far from it, ending up in a mess Now at Brookes, must be unreal buzz And needless to say, I’m sure you rip up the fuzz But can you confirm, Georgina Scott Is she your missus, or is she just not? But all joking aside, and this can’t be more true Us all gathered here, is a credit to you I know I can speak, for us all tonight I hope we stay close, I hope we stay tight To everyone else, be happy, be hearty Have a great night, and enjoy the party You’ve been with us, through the lows and the joys With love from us, your mates, the boys.
