Its Jordis 8th Gotcha Day today.My heart & soul lie with this boy :-) Having read Dawns post about middle aged hounds not finding their forever homes because of their age, it made me think about the past 8yrs since we adopted Jordi boy. So much has changed in my life its frightening :-).Jordi has been my constant,my peace & sanity throughout everything, good & bad :-) So, 2 things I would add to why middle aged hounds shouldnt be left behind. 1. You get them for as long as you get them. No guarantees any hound is with you until a ripe old age such as Jordis. Those of us who have lost hounds before they even hit middle age know that only too well. 2. Think about your own lives over say, a 5yr period, & all the changes it has gone through. Who can say that their lives are the same?? Who can say that those 5yrs wouldnt be better spent with a hound in it, rather than worrying about the time when they wont be?. Thank you Jordi for 8 wonderful Gotcha Years...just stay with me a little bit longer :-) Mum. x
