Its #MozartMonday! In honor of our performances of the Mozart Requiem on October 19 and 20 were going to bring you weekly trivia/rumors/strange facts surrounding the Mozart Requiem.This is week #6! After the Requiem was finally completed, the next battle was over ownership. Constance sent the Requiem via messenger to Walsegg and received her fee, but then Walsegg broke the agreement that he would never perform the Requiem outside of his castle. Due to the breach of contract, Constance was eventually able to get consent from Walsegg to sell the Requiem and sold it for 50 ducats and 50 copies. The first publication was printed in 1800.
