Its National Hot Dog Day. Which reminds me of a time many years ago of eating at Pinks with Ray Beaudoin. At the time they had on the menu The Millennium Dog. A 12 inch jalapeño dog topped with sour cream, lettuce, and tomato, etc… Ray was thinking about it but wasnt sure. But all it took was a few words of encouragement and he was up to the challenge. He took on that dog with gusto for the first 8 inches or so but he was slowing down. But all you needed to say was its ok Ray if you cant finish and back at it he was. The last bite took about 5 minutes to chew it seemed as he fell back into his chair. In the end all I can say is the car ride home wasnt pleasant.
