Its National Suicide Prevention week, this is a tough topic and I treat it with the upmost care and concern. Because of the Nature of what I do as a Licensed Therapist, I am prone to recognizing the different signs and symptoms of someone who is organically depressed but you may not always be aware or unsure of how to help. Anyone can make a difference. Always take a depressed persons gestures seriously, regardless of the degree of seriousness you think it is. The truth is- sometimes the signs are there and other times we can miss them. If you know someone struggling offer to find help with them, do not blame or criticize. Sometimes we dont know how deeply people suffer so just be aware. If you are personally struggling, get help-talk it out, theres always hope! See the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SUICIDOLOGY website to recognize the warning signs below. #AdvancedPsychotherapyPractice #SuicidePreventionWeek #BeWell #Encourage suicidology.org/about-aas/national-suicide-prevention-week
