Its Time for a CHANGE in Christians. As of late, I have found that there is a great lack of understanding and even a greater divide amongst Christians on the developments happening on the world front and our social issues. The direction of our country and its leadership is welcomed with open arms on one side and condemned to die a slow death. The divide is even much deeper than that. It filters into our churches and centers on issues of community, relevance, what is the true church, who is doing it right and who’s not and we even divide over issues of the moving of the Spirit. Take it even further and we will divide over what is tolerable, even acceptable for some and not for others. I blame this on two things that have to do with truly walking with God. 1. We believe the Word of God but we don’t read it, drink it in and live it out in our daily walk. 2. Families are not cultivating a devotion to the scriptures in the home. Consequently we have raised a society that does not know Gods voice. There is only one remedy, one thing that will turn us as a society. As Christians we must repent and turn from the ways that do not include The One who has redeemed us by His shed blood. We must once again begin to commune with Him and become reliant on His Word Otherwise, we will never understand the things around us, we will never walk with the reality of His peace and we will continue as lost! I am throwing this out as a challenge and I hope that I am not the only one who is saying that there is a real need to keep ourselves hidden in Him and protected from an onslaught of compromises - Things that are not filtered through Christ and what He would do. To often we spend all of our time wondering what others think, promoting our agenda’s and spend no time with Him. For example. How much time has been spent with Jesus and in the Word by comparison to FB time? I recently had a man who is a FB friend say – “Wow, You must have it really good! I see you doing all these rides to amazing places. I wished I had that kind of Life!” What He doesn’t know is that I struggle with life just like he does. I have gone through tremendous pain in the last 6 months with fibromyalgia, I walked through a season where we wondered if we would loose my wife to cancer, Both of us have been in and out of surgery for a number of reasons. Medical bills mounted to the degree that we had a bankruptcy, I fight with every ounce of my being to be a good employee at the job the Lord gave me but there are days due to fibro that I can’t do anything but crawl in a hole. I won’t go on about the storms we have weathered but I do want people to know tha it is important for us as believers in this final hour to proclaim the Good News and that when I am made weak, He is strong. That when I trust Him, His greatness is displayed, that people can walk with God in an Enoch sort of way, and that The Word of God tells us all of this and more! It is the single most important thing for life in this day and age. Rebuttals are welcome but make sure it is along the line of encouraging one another in the faith. I have grown tired of blame and the tolerant approach that comes when taking a stand for Christ. Remember, the only thing that is relevant is His Word! Addendum. The less I am in The Word the more I compare my walk with others. When will we base our walk on His confirmation in quiet times with Him. When will we begin to move in the affirnation of His Spirit in our lives and when will it begin to look like the Word being lived out?
