Its #Tunesday! This week we have “Queens” off of THEESatisfactions 2012 release, AwE NaturalE. THEESatisfaction is comprised of Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White. They write, produce and perform their own material, funk-psychedelic feminista sci-fi epics with the warmth and depth of Black Jazz and Sunday morning soul, frosted with icy raps that evoke equal parts Elaine Brown, Ursula Rucker and Q-Tip. Both met at the University of Washington in 2008 when they began independently producing and releasing music until they signed with Sub Pop Records in 2011 and released their debut full-length, awE NaturalE.
