Its a No Win Situation sometimes, you bring unknown bands and get a small to none crowd, or you bring the bands people will come out to see over and over til the people are sick of them and dont come either.....I say, this is the Job of a Promoter (for the record i hate that title) Id rather be called an Organizer, and its your job to go to every media outlet to inform the people why they should come to your event. Dont just put up a poster on facebook, and at a few establishments, hit all media you can. If you are gonna do something, Do it right. For Example...Smiley y La Fuerza Musical...How did we Hype him? We pointed out that here is a war veteran, who sings patriotic songs that he wrote, and has been in the business for years. Crystal n Crew: Here are young talented musical family who is keeping a cultural tradition alive. Ricky Ruiz y Los Escorpiones & Conjunto Romo: Here are a couple of bands who have kept the style of Los Relampagos mix of Conjunto and Norteno alive. You have to Sell your event, much in the way Pro Wrestling does, I have said it once, and I will say it again, The days of hanging up a few posters, and waiting for the huge crowd to show up are OVER! -Frank
