Its a beautiful coffee shop + good book kinda day. Im ready The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst as Im in a season of {needing} to simplify my life and limit my yeses. Its hard learning to say no to the good things in order to say yes to the {best} things. But something became so clear-as-day to me, today, and I want to share. In this great day when most women (and men) wave banners of authenticity about our pasts, we crouch back from honesty about our presents. Well tell you all about our broken places of yesterday but dont dare admit the limitations of our today. All the while the acid of overactivity eats holes in our souls. And from those holes leaks the cry of the unfulfilled calling that never quite happened. We said yes to so much that we missed what I call our Best Yes assignments—simply because we didnt heed the warning of the whispers within that subtle space. We must not confuse the command to love with the disease to please. Ohmygosh—yes.
