Its a bird! Its a plane! No, its a Catahoula! Wait, its two Catahoulas ....slamming headfirst into a glass window .... The doe is standing, yes standing, in my front yard (about 50 feet from the front door). She is EATING my flowers, and is ever-so-calmly flicking that defiant, white tail. This deer is apparently quite deaf, or shes putting on a very good act, ignoring the caterwauling coming from my house that sounds like a thousand souls being tormented in Hades. The dogs are howling and screaming and trying to bang, bite, claw, chew through the glass window. Im trying to drag them both to their crates at the same time. The Chihuahua is barking louder than all the Catahoulas put together. And of course, Shadow, the elderly -drama queen-catahoula has got to be under foot during it all! So I have Drake with one hand and Enli with the other hand, and I am DRAGGING them to their crates... and then Shadow dances underneath my feet tripping me.... We all go down in a heap on the floor and I land on the chow, who promptly tries to bite me ( hes our problem child). And now the Houla Boys are loose again and are using the couch as a trampoline, presumably trying to launch themselves THROUGH the window..... Meanwhile the flipping deer still just stands there ....smiling! Call me crazy, but I really think she was smiling. Heck, maybe it was just a hallucination brought on by the head injury I sustained beneath the feet of the Houla pack... Fortunately the dogs are intact, as is the window....miraculously. Never a dull minute with Enli and Drake around.... Did I mentioned that I am trying to finish a 2000 word paper that is due at midnight.... Yeah, Im about a thousand words short. I have a headache, I wonder if the dogs have a headache...?
