Its a cry you often hear from bibliophiles: The book is better than the film! Well, Dr Yvonne Griggs, UNE Lecturer in Media and Communications begs to disagree! In her seminar ‘Screwing’ around with Jane Eyre: Adapting the Nineteenth Century Canon, Griggs says that cinema adaptations of novels adds to the cultural currencies of the book. You can catch her presentation at 4.10 pm today in Arts Lecture Theatre 3. Her seminar will be followed by refreshments.
