Continue enjoying the weekend everyone :) *********************************************** This is the Official Forecast for Sunday 25th of May 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. *********************************************** Queensland Warning Summary at issue time - - Nil. >>Please check the Bureaus web site for details of the latest Qld warnings information at bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/ Weather Situation - A weak high pressure centre lies over southeastern Queensland, while a weak ridge extends into northern Queensland. The high will shift slowly eastwards before a much stronger high pushes into the southern Tasman Sea on Monday and becomes the dominant feature, strengthening the ridge over eastern Queensland. Forecast for the rest of Saturday - Fine and mostly clear across the state apart from some isolated showers about the far northeastern coast. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the tropical east coast. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds elsewhere. Sunday 25 May - Fine and mostly sunny across the state apart from some isolated showers about the far northeastern coast. Isolated early morning fog patches in the east. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the tropical east coast. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds elsewhere. Fire Danger - High over parts of the eastern interior. Monday 26 May - The high should move into the Tasman Sea and strengthen with a ridge extending along the east coast of Queensland. Dry air will persist over much of the state maintaining fine and sunny conditions across most of Queensland except for some isolated showers about parts of the east coast, and possibly the far northwest. Maximum temperatures will be several degrees above average over the west and southern interior. Tuesday 27 May - The high should move further to the east to be located near New Zealand, with a weakening ridge persisting along the Queensland east coast. Isolated showers will develop about the east coast and adjacent inland as the flow tends more onshore. An upper trough will cross the southern interior of the state during the day leading to isolated showers and possible thunderstorms through the southwest. Elsewhere dry conditions should result in a fine and mostly sunny day, with maximum temperatures several degrees above the average over the west and southern interior.
