Its a morbid but necessary question in todays digital age: What happens to your social media accounts when you die? Webpage FX says Twitter will automatically deactivate your account after six months of inactivity. But if you want to deactivate a dead friends page, they require a death certificate. Facebook wont shut down your page until a friend reports your death or memorializes your page. Experts recommend you check each sites policy and make up a will of sorts to organize your digital demise and give family and friends some online closure.
