Its a sad day in America when a man has to defend himself and his actions because he used a switch on his kid......I stand behind his methods as they were the ones used to discipline me. Maybe instead making an example of him in a negative way we should make an example of how to discipline your kids so they know that actions have consequences. Of course there are the bleeding heart extremist that think that spanking and switches and whatever else cause violence.....WRONG! It teaches respect and lets them know there are repercussions to their actions. Alternative punishments are BOGUS.......they know they will eventually get back the things youve taken away but a switch, belt or hand accross the ass is a wake up call and reminder later on. In closing, some will agree, some will not, but I know Im a better person for the discipline I received growing up.
