Its a shame that woman (Black women especially) tear one another down instead of celebrating our successes. Gabby Douglas won Olympic GOLD & made HISTORY and black women talked about her HAIR; Shonda Rimes is making history and again BLACK WOMEN are tearing her down and its about HAIR!!!! Seriously. She is educated, articulate, humble and breaking down barriers; why not celebrate that. Appearance is not the be all end all. I have seen black women living hand to mouth literally, yet they take their last $ and spend it on getting hair and nails done. No job, no savings, no life insurance, no thought for how they will pay for a college education for their children, no aspiration of home ownership, but hair and nails done every week. Shondas appearance was acceptable, maybe not as glamorous as some would have liked but thats her choice. I have seen the negative posts surrounding her appearance and opted to say nothing but then I remembered Edmund Burkes famous words, All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Women tearing down women BLACK WOMEN tearing down BLACK WOMEN... EVIL!!!!!!! Rant over.
