Its after 6:00 p.m. and were still waiting for the major impacts from Hurricane Iselle. Surf is up, rain picks up then tapers off, and the 800 pound gorilla lurking out there is the high winds. We have a couple of road closures in Puna from downed trees. Harlan and I boarded up our windows, hes tied down our storage shed and Talaite Matai Buluis taped up the windows. At least when she wasnt talking pictures of me and Harlan. Ill be here at the radio station all night, but East Hawaii is a real ghost town, with photos like these taken at our Waiakea Uka convenience center typical of what youll see all over.
