Its amazing how much more you learn to recycle, reuse & be inventive living on an island where resources are limited. An old pair of wooden bookends got sawn in half and drilled to make curtain pole holders, the ribbon that came around some towels got turned into curtain tie backs, all the empty yogi tea boxes are being saved (with that beautiful lotus pattern inside) to make something beautiful, odd cuts of wood got made into frames for some reused mirror glass, then painted & covered in shells, sea fans found washed up on the beach have been framed & immortalized as art work, the old weathered boards from the previous dock have been saved to sand down & make planters for the cuttings of bougainvillea taken from the one existing plant, shipping pallets are used to make a compost heap where air can circulate....There is no end, little waste & something really satisfying about knowing you have created something out of nothing :-)
