Its awesome to be cared about. It really is. However, if Im doing something that is outside of normal (and I use that word loosely), I have a God said. Take this whole homeschooling thing. Our decision to homeschool was made after much prayer, arguing with God on my part because I dont think Im qualified to teach anyone anything nor do I think I have patience for it, and counsel seeking. No, we didnt bother Pastor with this. Hes a busy man. We sought counsel from other Godly parents, Gods Word, and God Himself thru prayer. I know in my knower the idea came from God, is endorsed by God, and the concept was created by God. That being said, yes there are things I cannot teach my children because I simply dont know or dont remember anything about it. Praise God there are tons of Biblically based resources online to help in those areas. In fact, the curriculum we are going to use is mostly internet based, Christian, has a strong Bible foundation, and is free. Im printing most of the books to paper form because I dont think children need that much time staring at a computer screen (and we only have the one laptop and 4 children). And a gracious soul is gifting us with the old textbooks from the school system they work in. God always equips us for what He wants us to do. Let me reiterate; we prayerfully chose to not continue with public school this year. Will they ever go back? I dont know. Were taking it one year at a time. Well see where God leads us. Who knows? Homeschool may be the only option in years to come.
