Its be a really busy period for the VWS recently. We have dispatched teams from all three stations to the #GlencairnHeights #wildfire comprising 7 teams, setting up the ICS planning section, opening up Newlands Control room. The girls and guys have been working very hard to assist containing this fire. Next weekend - 29th November 2014 - we have our #VWSOpenDay. It is a wonderful opportunity for the public to meet our members and the amazing helicopter pilots from Working on Fire. There are loads of kid activities on the cards as well - its a true family fun day and helps the VWS bring in funding to help fight these fires.
