Its been a long weekend involving worn out slicks that were stuck on the rims, an ill-fated attempt to try taller slicks on my car, many hours in the pouring rain but enjoying the company of good friends, and finally lots of exciting racing! I was able to go some rounds in Saturdays Race of Champions, but lost at 10 cars by 0.004. On Sunday I drew my old friend Pat Figini, who I have raced way too many times this season, and he threw down an excellent run and sent me into the trailer early. He owed me one after being on the wrong end of a few close races this year. I spent the rest of the day as cheerleader in the stands yelling for our teammates, and got to watch our pit neighbor Steve Laskowske (hubby of Julie Shillitto Laskowske) win in Super-Pro, and David C Chun take runner-up in Pro. After trading spots for 1st & 2nd all day, our team slipped to 3rd overall, and our local friends at Woodburn Dragstrip took home the overall title. Caitlyn had a good time hanging out with her friends at the track. She wore herself out, falling asleep on the drive home and still asleep this morning!
